Skylight Glasses in buildings – Advantages and Disadvantages



Skylights give a structural beauty to your home or your office. Nothing can replace the obvious beauty that natural sunlight can provide to your place. This modern lighting effect can bring glorious effect to your haven, but controlling the heat and light can become a problem in the long term.
There are of course, advantages and disadvantages of keeping skylights in your buildings – let’s take a look at them.





Advantages of Skylights:

Disadvantages of Skylights:
A major disadvantage can be the influence they have on power use. During hot summers, you might need to adjust the air conditioners’ thermostat to compensate the rising the temperature.

During winter, ice covered on the skylights can make your room frigid and so you might want to change the settings of the heater too.

Cleaning and Dusting Skylights can be a major problem. You might need a really big ladder to take you up till the pane.

Since most glasses don’t have coverings or window treatments, dust accumulates quickly.
So, choose a skylight that gives the best effect to you and your place. Skylights add to the beauty of your commercial or residential building.
